Hi everyone! I’m back from my break and I hope you all had a wonderful summer. Mine was a mixed bag, but mostly fabulous – Swedish vacation, at least a few days on the beach, canine health class in England, etc.
I just the other day came across this video that I wanted to share with you. Although the music in it is a bit annoying and there are a few typos, it does contain a lot of good information. It covers a bit of the basics of joints, the different types of arthritis, how and why canine arthritis develops, symptoms of arthritis in dogs, and diagnosing. There are supposedly follow-up videos to this one coming (covering prevention and treatment), but I haven’t been able to find them yet.
I wish I had seen this a long time ago. We were told for quite some time that Sadie had arthritis, but looking back, I think it was the cancer spreading. Or maybe a combination of the two. Either way, I can’t help thinking that perhaps we could have done something if we had caught it earlier. Lesson learned: keep educating yourself and always get at least one second opinion.
